Chalkboard Fridge!

It has been so long since I made a post on this blog that I could not remember my user name! I have got to get in the habit of posting more often. I want  to share more photos and more detail of my projects and finds! ;)
One early evening I was cooking dinner.... The thought of how much I HATE my refrigerator popped into my head.... ALMOST as much as I hate my counter tops..... And at JUST the right moment.. My dear friend Jessica came walking through the door. I was so excited that there was hope to get that fridge out. Right then and there!! Jessica is definitely my best helper... a friend who's there through all my hauling, moving and messes.. and she just supports me no matter what. And she doesn't even like my style!! So for her to help me get this fridge out you can only imagine what a psycho she thought I was. Obsession had taken over all in a matter of 20 minutes.. AND IT WAS ON!!!
Here is the BEFORE of the fridge. After we got it out of that corner ;)

1st I primed the fridge. I am a big fan of ZINSSER. I used it on my laminate cabinets and it was awesome!! It drys SUPER fast!

about 15 minutes later, if that!.. I was ready to paint...
It was simple! I used a large edger. I DID need to paint some smaller details that I had not even thought about.. But no big deal. The inside has a little black stripe so no old color would show through.
I have to say I am REALLY SUPER happy with the turn out! BUT After I did it straight out of an obsessive state of mind. I thought OH NO!! What have I done?!?!!!!
But it is FABULOUS. no regrets. The chalk wipes off easy and cleans with a damp cloth, my kids love it, and it looks 100 times better than it did!! The only thing I do not like about this, is when I open the door the texture kind of makes me cringe!.. which may not be a bad thing since I am trying to shed a couple pounds!  ;) I am on a budget and whatever I can do for a cheap, quick face lift.. I'm all in! The paint was even free! I picked it up at the dump a couple weeks ago. Definitely one of my favorite Friday stops. :) If you didn't already know?!!? The local land fill gives out free paint on the weekends!!! (at least ours does)  So here is the after!
Marina excited to show her talent! She wants to be an artist when she grows up!

I was so excited when I seen a post on the YOUNG HOUSE LOVE blog about one of their home crashes that had a DIY ruler to keep track of your children's height! I had never seen that! and was excited to jump on the not-so-known about bandwagon.

Until I began to see it EVERYWHERE!! all over pinterest too! which is cool.. still love the idea. But no longer for me... I was on the hunt to find something "different" to  keep track of my children's growth. and... they are growing everyday, and I was just waiting for that perfect thing :/. total procrastinator!  Well a few weeks ago, at a community garage sale.. I FOUND IT! I am so in love with it! If marrying it was an option, we would be in trouble!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new vintage survey kit!!

What a cool piece to keep great history!

The Shab Cab! ...a diamond in the rough...

I found this cute little cabinet that is now called the Shab Cab, at a KILLER estate sale! I'm talking piles and piles of junk.. pushing things to form walk ways. Digging in under and around. I love a treasure hunt like that!! Especially when the hunt is worth it, and nothing is over $10.00!! `I spent a total of 6 hours there that weekend. And found a new friend (Ashleigh) who was hosting the sale. She knew me by name by the 2nd hour in. By the 2nd day she was asking for help in watching customers. lol I wish there was a sale with an Ashleigh like her every weekend!!
Here's the before of the shab cab!
And I would call this the after.. but I think this will be the process.. I would like to add some more character with some aging and distressing ;)
Looking back... I don't hate the before.. but I love the after

Love at the Wild Wood

I went in the booth Saturday only to find MANY of my favorite items sold! That was amazing! It has only been 3 weeks since the booth has opened. I have enjoyed every minute of this learning process. The best part is... I did not have to change my life to make this happen. I have Slammed on my brakes for yard sales, estate sales, trash piles, and freebies since I can remember. People have always thought my "junking" habits were crazy. Well... it might be! but its a crazy I love! Trying to get some Valentines Love in the booth. (hence the hearts)

It is my pleasure to present Pineapple Avenue! I've read, reviewed, obsessed and stalked blogs for the past 3 years. Always hoping to make my own! Thank you to Jessica Kate.. for helping me make that happen!! www.jessicakatedesigns.com I am excited to share my journey, my passions, my life! Welcome... to Pineapple Avenue!
